CE SOBRE CI: INTELIGENCIA EMOCIONAL COMO UNA DESTREZA LABORAL CLAVE

¿Qué nos pasó en este 2020?

[dropcap background=»transparent» color=»#e71c34″ circle=»0″ size=»2″]S[/dropcap]i te parece conocido un contexto donde el mundo digital esta cobrando fuerza y se va apropiando de las actividades dentro de las experiencias educativas, laborales y personales, entonces estás en un nuevo terreno al igual que yo. Debo compartirte que siendo miembro de la llamada “generación x” y con unos 15 años dentro de la academia, todo este sistema múltiple ha venido a de-construir las formas de concebirme dentro de un ecosistema educativo que creí dominar. Pero las áreas de oportunidad se presentan siempre que estamos en nuestra zona de confort. Ahora ya no es suficiente comprender o tratar de dominar el tema generacional que; como saben queridos lectores, eso parece haber quedado obsoleto en un planteamiento de acción que nos ha tomado por sorpresa de un momento a otro. Pero esto ya lo sabes. Lo relevante de este planteamiento es: ¿y ahora qué?

Creo que tenemos dos opciones, la primera es dejarnos llevar por la marea con todo y las consecuencias que esto pueda tener o aprender a navegar una vez más. En lo personal, yo estoy eligiendo aprender todo lo que se disponga para continuar con mi labor como líder, mentor, consultor, evaluador, académico, docente y coach. ¿Y tu… te animas? Si tu respuesta es sí entonces acompáñame en este recorrido para plantear lo que se viene en el futuro inmediato y cómo salir avante dentro de él.

Enseñar con el Coeficiente Emocional

En este contexto donde la fuerza laboral y estudiantil digital aumenta, SER realmente humano es la habilidad esperada y deseada. Para la educación, el futuro está en los sentimientos.

Si esta afirmación te ha sacudido, entonces estoy haciendo mi trabajo. Entonces revisemos los hechos antes de molestarnos: Te comparto que los investigadores ya demostraron que nuestro éxito personal y profesional depende en un 80% o más del coeficiente emocional (CE) y en un 20% o menos del famoso coeficiente intelectual (CI), en el que curiosamente nos hemos ocupado casi siempre de forma prioritaria durante nuestra experiencia de vida.

Pero descubramos de qué va el CE. Podríamos definirlo como la “capacidad de controlar, expresar y de SER conscientes de las emociones, además de manejar de forma adecuada las relaciones interpersonales acompañando esta acción con buen juicio y de forma empática. ¿Fácil cierto?… O al menos así suena.

De hecho la revelación que te presento es que estas funciones humanas no pueden ser automatizadas. No podemos encender el piloto automático y ya. A tal grado que el foro Económico Mundial señala que la CE es una habilidad laboral clave que todos los empleados han de desarrollar en esta era: la cuarta revolución industrial. Y si esto ocurre dentro del mundo empresarial imaginaste lo que va a requerir dentro de nuestro ejercicio como formadores de las nuevas generaciones.

Esto demuestra el por qué las instituciones y las empresas se están preparando para el futuro invirtiendo en recursos humanos con un mayor CE. Según el sondeo realizado por Career Builder, tras este tipo de crisis mundial, la prioridad hace hincapié en contratar o dar ascensos a todos aquellos que cuenten con inteligencia emocional desarrollada. De hecho cuando el recurso humano docente es considerado de buen estándar, se está optando por implementar capacitaciones para formar al personal en CE y potenciar sus herramientas para generar el buen desempeño.

Es momento de formar a los docentes para que sean mejores a la hora de reconocer sus propios sentimientos y así generar que puedan ser capaces de entender a los demás dentro de los centros estudiantiles. Ejemplifiquemos con un maestro enfadado que seguramente podría causar problemas con los alumnos o padres de familia e incluso con sus compañeros docentes y que puede estar generando distinciones adversas dentro de sus enseñanzas; en contraposición de uno alegre que a su vez tiene ganas de colaborar y que ante una área de oportunidad estaría dispuesto a entablar conversaciones efectivas de resolución y cuyo aprendizaje es abierto a corear enseñanzas de valor hacía los demás. Con esto quiero compartirte que la formación en CE ofrece como parte de sus iniciativas el liderazgo pro-activo.

Si reflexionamos, parece entonces que la CE sería entonces una destreza con la que ganamos todos: las instituciones, los planteles, los directivos, el personal docente, los estudiantes y los padres de familia. Quizá también el futuro podría ganar con estas acciones. ¿Será que podemos transformar nuestros contextos? Las personas con un CE más elevado en general tienen mejores resultados y estos se ven reflejados en los indicadores de éxito personales. Entonces nuestro impacto como maestros podrá reflejarse al mismo nivel que estamos obteniendo personalmente. !Imagina el impacto en cadena! Lo que me lleva a pedirte que cierres tus ojos por un momento y que puedas verlo desde tu espacio de creación, tu yo interno acompañado de todas sus intenciones.

Finalmente, si esta es nuestra realidad temporal ¿con qué herramienta estas trabajando, compartiendo, enseñando? ¿CI o CE? ¿Será que podrías tomar el riesgo de aprender a desarrollar tu capacidad dentro del ejercicio emocional? ¿Qué posibilidades estarías abriendo hacia dentro y hacia afuera? ¿Cuál sería el legado que estarás construyendo?
