Esto representa que no concluyeron el ciclo escolar 2019-2020 435 mil alumnos de tres a 29 años de edad por causa de la pandemia.
La segunda razón identificada para 8.9% de los alumnos, que representa a 65 mil niños y jóvenes, es que dejaron la escuela por falta de dinero; además de 6.7%, es decir 49 mil, porque tenían que trabajar.

De los 54.3 millones de personas de tres a 29 años, 62% (33.6 millones) estuvo inscrita en el ciclo escolar 2019-2020; de estas, se estima que 2.2% (738.4 mil personas) no concluyeron el ciclo escolar 2019-2020 y más de la mitad de ellos, (58.9%) señaló directamente que fue por un motivo relacionado al coronavirus.
Para el ciclo escolar 2020-2021, la población inscrita es de 32.9 millones (60.6% del total de tres a 29 años).
De estos, 30.4 millones (92%) son población que también estuvo inscrita en el ciclo escolar pasado (2019-2020) y 2.5 millones (8%) son inscritos que no participaron en el sistema educativo en el ciclo escolar 2019-2020.
